NAS have introduced a 'Community Project of the Year' award to reward the efforts of our apprentices. Each year of their apprenticeship, an apprentice is required to manage a community project which would give something back to the community, whether this be an act of charity, a fundraiser, or supporting cleaning a rundown area.

As a company, we have decided to name the award in memory of our loyal colleague Mel Florence, in recognition of his loyal service and our fond memories of him.

The apprentices have worked extremely hard on their community projects this year, not only on their own projects but also as part of a team to help each other. A big well done to you all - Ben Callard, Ieuan Hickey, Liam Davies, David Rhys Norman, Daniel Jenkins and Steve Powell.

The Mel Florence Award 2013 goes to Daniel Jenkins and we wish all apprentices the very best of luck in their future community projects.
